TRANSCENDENTAL uncanny and Anti- enigmatical Movements During the New England Renaissance flowing of 1840-1855, belles-lettres underwent two precise distinct movements known as transcendental philosophy and Anti-Transcendentalism. two movements were very influential and consisted of authors such as Ralph Waldo Emerson (Transcendentalist) and Nathaniel Hawthorne (Anti-Transcendentalist). Concentrating their ideas on compassionate nature and perception, rather than on logic and reason, two these movements served as a flourishing sedition against previously accept ideas. The Transcendental movement focused its ideas on the essential wholeness of creation, the subtle goodness of humanity and in individual intuition as the highest source of knowledge, rather than sensory experience.
